Same Day Crowns
Typically, crowns take two visits to complete. During the first visit, you will have the tooth prepared for a crown, a gunky impression made of your mouth, and then you will wear a temporary plastic crown for two weeks while a lab fabricates your permanent crown.
In our office, we’ve replaced the messy impressions and plastic teeth with a state-of-the-art technology called CEREC. Instead of making traditional dental molds of your mouth, we will scan the teeth digitally and mill the crown in our office in a couple of hours. This eliminates the need for wearing a plastic tooth or scheduling a second visit.
A Note About Dental Crown Materials
With the exception of the occasional gold crown to accommodate patient preference, all crowns placed at our office are metal-free and bonded to the tooth using the safest products available.
