Enamel Remineralization

The earliest stage of tooth decay is enamel demineralization. It is a superficial dissolving of the surface enamel (the glossy outer shell) of the tooth. It can sometimes be seen on the surfaces of the teeth as a chalky white area.

Promoting Enamel Remineralization

Before the demineralization penetrates through the outer shell of the tooth, it is sometimes possible to promote the remineralization of tooth enamel through the use of calcium phosphate technologies.
